The Great Wave: Japonisme at Hill-Stead
The exhibition focuses on the museum’s collection of Japanese prints and the Burnt Sutras purchased by the Pope family over the years. The Popes were avid art collectors and Hill-Stead houses works by Winslow Homer, Mary Cassatt, Claude Monet, and Édouard Manet acquired by the family between 1889 to 1907.
