New Orleans Film Festival
The New Orleans Film Festival screens award-winning features and local music docs. The festival runs Oct. 22-27 at local venues, and many films are available in the festival’s online portal through Nov. 1. Screenings take place at The Broad Theater, The Prytania Theatre in Uptown, CAC and Historic New Orleans Collection. The CAC serves as a festival hub with a box office, bar and hosting Filmmaker Conference events. There also are parties, including the opening night party at Gallier Hall with music by Cha Wa, and a bounce party with DJ Jubilee on Friday night at the CAC. Bobby Rush is profiled in the film “King of the Chitlin Circuit,” which screens Sunday at the CAC, and Rush performs at a festival party that night at Dew Drop Inn. The festival screens 175 films, including narrative and documentary features and short films.
