HUMAN CHAIN
Yerba Buena Gardens, Mission and Fourth streets, San Francisco, CA
San Francisco, California
A massive painted fresco of two interlocking arms will spread across the Great Lawn at Yerba Buena Gardens. Organizers are inviting up to 1,000 members of the public to form an unbroken human chain around it. The event marks the West Coast debut of French-Swiss artist Saype's long-running global project, Beyond Walls. The public celebration includes speeches and a dedication before the human chain, with the overall art experience lasting roughly 90 minutes.
