Opening of Mosquito Bridge

El Dorado County will open its new Mosquito Bridge for public use, replacing a 9-foot-wide, one-lane timber suspension bridge that has carried traffic across the South Fork American River since 1939. The new bridge spans nearly 1,200 feet and sits roughly 400 feet above the river, finally giving fire engines, school buses, and delivery trucks a route into the Mosquito and Swansboro communities.
