Clear Future : Pre-Optometry General Body

The first GBM will introduce students to POA (Pre-Optometry Association) and provide an overview of the path to becoming an optometrist. The presentation will cover optometry prerequisites, the application process, OAT preparation and tips, partnerships with various OAT boot camps, the OptomCAS application process, and the interview process. We will also introduce students to the new Midwestern University Pathways Program. In addition, POA will host a post-midterm craft night to give students an opportunity to relax and de-stress. Students will decorate contact lens cases while enjoying sweets and connecting with other students in a fun, low-pressure environment. The event will provide students with valuable information about pursuing optometry while also creating a welcoming space to build community and take a break from academics.
