Poster Session: The News from Nowhere

Higher Education and Student Affairs master's students enrolled in HESA 500 will present posters highlighting archival research projects focused on The News from Nowhere, NIU's underground student newspaper published from 1968 to 1971. Projects examine how national social and political movements of the Vietnam Era intersected with campus life at NIU, including anti-Vietnam War protests, debates surrounding ROTC, the Gay Liberation Movement, Black Panther involvement on campus, and administrative responses to student activism.
