Script Club: Rooted

Join us for a Book Club-style Script Club with the Portland Stage. Check out your copy of the script and join us two weeks before previews of each Mainstage Production. Scripts are available at the reference desk at the Downtown Branch. This year Portland Stage celebrates its 53rd season and we invite you to chat about the plays with Literary Manager Todd Brian Backus, his Directing and Dramaturgy Apprentices, and special guests. Deborah Zoe Laufer’s play Rooted is about what could happen if you went viral on the internet. Emery discovers she's cultivating more than just plants with her video posts. As true believers flock to her, the chaos grows. A play about what we know, where we put our faith, and the seeds we sow.
