Drop in for a new STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) activity every Wednesday during the month of October. Discover how the Aztecs from central Mexico transformed lakes into thriving farmland using Chinampas, ingenious raised garden beds built in shallow water. Often called “floating gardens,” these highly productive systems used natural materials and surrounding water to nourish crops year-round. In this hands-on STEAM activity, participants will create their own water-based farm while exploring sustainability, ecosystems, and creative problem-solving inspired by Indigenous innovation.
