Annual May Procession

The annual May Procession will be held on the grounds of Saint Mary’s of the Barrens. The procession will form in front of the historic church and proceed to the grotto on the Rosary Walk. Roses will be presented to Our Blessed Mother by the First Communicants, and written petitions will be presented by the eighth-grade Confirmands. A wreath covered in red roses will be placed at the grotto. Familiar Marian hymns will be sung, and a prayer service will be held. Emma Mahnken will crown the statue of Our Blessed Mother. In case of inclement weather, the procession will be held inside the Shrine Church.
