2026 Composting Demonstrations

Join us at Pioneers Park Nature Center for a free Composting Demonstration hosted by Nebraska Extension Master Gardener Volunteers! Learn how to transform yard and garden waste into rich compost using various pile structures, mastering the ideal carbon-to-nitrogen balance (greens vs. browns) and troubleshooting common issues. Demonstrations are held from 10-11am Saturday, September 26 at the Backyard Composting Demonstration Area (across from the Nature Center, idenifiable by the Extension banner). No preregistration is needed. Plus, one lucky participant at each event will win either a composting thermometer or a bin! Covered by Nebraska Extension - open to all.
