Place in Fiction

Join Santa Fe-based writer and instructor Elizabeth Gilchrist for a talk and workshop on how an author’s sense of place, both conscious and unconscious, informs and shapes the narrative. This program is intended for writers, aspiring writers and readers. It will include some short writing exercises. Participants are encouraged to bring a notepad and pen or pencil. Gilchrist will also talk about her February 2026 book Rich People in Santa Barbara: Two Novellas while using that as an example in the workshop. Q&A session and book sale to follow.
