Fly-Tying Instructor Professional

Fly-Tying Instructor Professional Development is designed to prepare volunteers to effectively assist participants during the monthly Fly-Tying Forum. Each session will focus on the patterns scheduled for the upcoming Forum, including the materials, tying sequence, key techniques, common mistakes, and potential challenges participants may experience. Volunteers will have an opportunity to practice the patterns, ask questions, and develop strategies for explaining each step clearly. The goal is to ensure that volunteer instructors are confident, prepared, and able to provide individualized assistance to tyers with varying levels of experience. Special emphasis will be placed on recognizing participants who need additional help, offering constructive guidance, and creating a supportive environment that promotes achievement, confidence, and continued interest in fly tying. These sessions are intended for volunteers who plan to serve as instructors at the following month’s Fly-Tying Forum. Attendance at the professional development session is required to serve and receive volunteer credit as a Fly-Tying Forum instructor.
